The writing style is folksy and I guess the information is all accurate, but not useful as a tourist guide. Plus, the publication is sloppy, with one page totally blank except a header and under it "To Be Done" or some such thing, not to mention numerous editing errors, including the omission of the first letter of the first word in a new chapter, missing words, words that should have been struck, etc.

The added section on Shakespeare country was no better, and the connection between the two made no sense. Format: Kindle Edition Verified Purchase. An enjoyable book, with contact information for places to stay and eat. This was a great trip for me. The group was lots of fun with everyone getting along. I personally think it is because Rick Steves tour people are usually PBS watchers and that gives them some commonality to begin with.
We saw a nice variety of churches, castles, gardens, and scenery and sheep. We walked a lot which I love and spent a good deal of time outside. The weather was great, only one rain cancellation. We had plenty of time to explore each area and I did not feel rushed. But so was Bodnant Garden, And then there was Wells.
It is hard to pick one. This was our first group tour. It was excellent. Guides Bill and Ben made the trip rewarding, informative and just plain fun. First of all, our tour guide, David, was outstanding. He has a wonderful, congenial personality, and combined a command of knowledge with the areas we visited with a great sense of humor and fun. We would definitely want to take another trip with him as our guide. Our coach driver ,Jim, was also very sweet and a great driver.
The tour was very well organized as we went from place to place with nice accommodations that were centrally located. We learned so much about each place we visited. I was able to get out with the sheepdog and actually give commands to get the sheep from the bottom of the pasture to the gate. We then had to keep them cornered so Garreth could grab one for sheering. I then had to grab the sheep by the wool and lead it to the barn.

We then watched it get sheered. This was one of the things I most looked forward to, and so it was a great experience for me. Our first tour. Nice to have someone else take care of the arrangements and details. Good pace and variety. Enjoyed group activities and also free time with suggestions. Appreciated extra space on Coach. I loved the bus and driver, Jim. He was friendly and able to maneuver the bus in very tight places.
The bus was comfortable and roomy. Our tour guide, David, was also nice and had a wonderful sense of humor.
About the author
He gave us a morning update on Boris Johnson and Brexit, and how Boris' hairstyle looked that morning based on what had happened the previous day. Very amusing.
We got to see a wide variety of sites, although we often had too little time to really experience some things. They were very beautiful and we had a nice walk on a public path with a stop for ice cream. We had a wonderful trip to England.
soilstones.com/wp-content/2020-03-27/605.php Our tour guide David was a lot of fun - we always appreciate learning the local slang and customs from the guide and the coach driver. The tour was well planned and interesting - we appreciate all of the effort in planning for a worry free trip. Every part of the trip was so well organized and orchestrated. From the motor coach, to hotels and our dinners as a group, we were well-cared for and hospitably received.
I was impressed by the variety of places we visited, from rural sheep farm to bustling city.
